About Waxahachie Tribal Loans
Short-term credit in the US is really two markets: state-licensed loans priced by statute, and tribal installment loans priced by the lender. Almost nobody tells borrowers the actual numbers of both before they apply. Waxahachie Tribal Loans exists to fix that — 1800 city guides across 46 jurisdictions, cash advance cost tables for 37 states, and the trade-offs spelled out in plain English.
What we do
- Publish the rules. Cash advance pages are built from state statutes and regulator publications, and link to the regulator that enforces them. Where a state doesn't license the product, the page says exactly that.
- Explain sovereign lending honestly. Tribal pages cover availability, typical APR ranges, Teletrack and credit-check practices, arbitration — the parts borrower reviews rarely mention.
- Match borrowers to lenders. Our short form reaches several lenders at once so you can compare offers instead of applying one by one.
How we're paid
If you take a loan through one of the lenders we route you to, the lender may pay us a fee. This never changes your price: state law caps what licensed lenders may charge, and tribal lenders set their own published terms regardless. We don't rank lenders by commission, and we don't publish fake reviews.
What we are not
We are not a lender, not a broker of record, not a tribe or an arm of one, and not a credit advisor. We don't make credit decisions, we don't guarantee approval, and we don't handle your loan after it's funded — your contract is with the lender alone.
Coverage at a glance
- Tribal loan guides: 46 jurisdictions (45 states plus DC), with city-level guides for the 1,800 largest communities — what sovereign lending is, who it reaches, and what it typically costs. Five states are excluded per our service terms: Arkansas, New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, and West Virginia.
- Cash advance guides: 37 states at state level. 31 license the product with statutory caps and fees we compute and rank; 6 — Arizona, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania — do not, and those pages explain the law and the legal alternatives instead.
- Tools: a fee-and-APR calculator for the licensed markets and an honest comparison of tribal loans, state-licensed advances, and credit-union PALs on every money page.
Methodology & editorial standards
- Sources. Every cap, fee ceiling, term limit, and rollover rule comes from the state statute (cited on each state page) and the enforcing regulator's publications. We re-verify the dataset at least quarterly and after any legislative change we learn of.
- Computed, not quoted. Cost tables and APR figures are calculated by us from the statutes — the same math everywhere, no lender input, no averages dressed up as law.
- Market observations are labeled. Tribal lending isn't governed by state statute, so its ranges (300%–700%+ APR, $300–$2,000) are labeled typical market observations, never statutory figures.
- No spin. "Guaranteed approval" marketing gets debunked, not repeated. Alternatives that are cheaper than borrowing are listed on every money page.
Common uses for a tribal installment loan
Short-term credit is a tool with a shape — these are the jobs it fits:
- Emergency loans — whatever broke this week and cannot sit until payday
- Car repair loans — the transmission, the tires, the alternator — whatever strands you
- Medical bills — copays, deductibles, and the part insurance doesn't cover
- Utility bills — avoid the disconnection notice and its penalty stack
- Rent shortfalls — bridge the gap to the first of the month
Why borrowers pick Waxahachie Tribal
What this site does for you before any lender sees your data:
- Bad credit considered — a thin or damaged credit file is not the dealbreaker it is at a bank
- Full cost before you sign — the APR and payment schedule must be in the agreement before you accept
- Fixed installments — a payment you can budget for, not a balloon due in two weeks
- No collateral — unsecured by design — nothing gets repossessed
- Teletrack often skipped — past short-term loans usually don't surface at many lenders
